Google has created a new system for small business to advertise locally. It’s a scaled down version of Google Adwords and its called Adwords Express. The new system is optimized to work with Google Places and mobile web surfers. The idea is if someone is searching for your product or service in your area they will see your ad. When setting up your account you have to option to link your ad to your website or to your Google Places page.

There is a $50 minimum to get on Adwords express and they walk you through the process of starting your ad campaign. It’s a great first step for a business new to the web because Google manages your budget for you and tries to maximize the number of impressions and clicks you get.
